You're Fired! Clinton beats Trump

What would the world be like to day if I had written this a little over two years ago…

Hillary Clinton pulled off the win, Americans have chosen to break new ground this election and elect the first female U.S. President.

I’m a Canadian, so I did not get a vote in this election. But don’t for one second assume that it does not affect me. The balance of the world hinged on this one. I just hope that the balance of the scale has tipped the correct direction.

President Obama has certainly taken a few breaths of relief, his legacy should now remain much unscathed.

We also now need to come up with a title for Bill Clinton… First Man…. First Former President….. I am very confused.

In a little over a couple months, I imagine the Obama family will fly off on an epic family vacation, Donald Trump will remain a very loud Donald Trump, and President Clinton and Former President Clinton will spend some time dodging the FBI and DOJ. (Maybe, the FBI did tell everyone on November 6th that it once again concluded it’s investigation. no charges to be laid)

So what now? Donald Trump is going to certainly challenge the election results. Trump has said all along that the election is rigged. Do you think he will get any traction?

If I want to knock a story off the front page, I just change my hairstyle. -Hillary Clinton

I have talked to several people the last couple months about the election, people from different races and countries. It amazed me at how passionate everyone is about this Decision 2016. I am sure that I will be having a few conversations over the next few days about the results. I would like to believe that a Clinton win would mean a more relaxed news cycle in 2017, but I am sure she has some skeletons that will topple out of the closet.

Respectfully if one were to practice partisan politics, Senior positions in the White House would be given to Green Party Dr. Jill Stein, and Libertarian Gary Johnson. I would include Donald Trump but……. ummmm…….

Wait… Could you imagine Donald Trump as Secretary of State Under Clinton??

November 8th has come, and gone. Hillary Clinton has secured the win, and I am likely to be sued for writing this because Donald Trump will think it is a disaster. Now to see what the next couple months bring.

Dad

My father, who passed away in the year 1993, would have turned 77 years old this year. Today in fact, December 5th 1940.   Happy Birthday Dad.Balloons21.jpg

24 years have gone by…

When I thought about this last week, I was drawn to think about what a different time that was. What a different world he would have been born into.  All the changes he would have seen from 1940 to 1993… From Cars to Tube TV’s and everything in-between.

I was young in 1993 but I remember the bag car phone and the electric typewriter being top of the line technology.  (Those older may disagree with my assessment.)

In 1940, World War II was well underway.  Adolf Hitler was running amuck compensating for his tiny little wiener.   President Franklin Roosevelt was the 32nd president of the United States.   William Mackenzie King was the 10th Prime Minister of Canada.  And Winston Churchill was named the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom in May of that year. There was even a king in England, King George VI.

Dad would have entered into his “teen” years in the 50’s.  Rock-and-roll really took off in the mid-50’s. Dad loved his music, always had a great time playing his guitar for others. I can picture him and his group of friends spending hours listening to the new tunes of the era.

Adulthood would have come in the 60’s, what better era to be 20-something? I’m not even going to begin speculating what sort of fun he would have been having then.

30-something in the 70’s, I’m thinking that was the era Dad starting taking his music seriously.  his life would undoubtably be defined by his Guitar and his song book.   When I was born in the 80’s, some of the earliest memories I have of him encompass music and song.  he was good at it.  I still have newspaper clippings of advertisements for him playing in different locations around Western Canada.

When you play in a bar, you best know how to read the crowd, and if your doing something they don’t like, you best know how to turn it around real fast.  I have no doubt he mastered that skill.

When my Father was born onto this earth, it was a terrible time for many people.  But in a hospital in Calgary Canada, he would have created smiles and joy and brought some light into a vastly confusing world.

Dad would go on to lead a full life, full of many adventure and tests.  Unfortunately it was ended too soon at the age of 52.   In the pictures I have uncovered, it looks like he had a decent amount of fun, I can take some small comfort in this.

I wonder what he would think of todays world?

Happy Birthday Dad!

Out of Order: Canadian Government

I have a funny feeling the word is heading in a direction that will have future generations reviewing the history of “the great uprising” in their classrooms. Only time can determine greatness in history and truly know if it was for better or for worse.

In Canada Justin Trudeau leads the country with what I believe is his secret agenda in toe. He’s bucking for a future with the United Nations and a Nobel peace prize. All on the Canadian tax payer dime.

Although I admit, I was sick of Stephen Harper and his cloak and dagger methods, he was a lot better for this country than Trudeau. (Did you know Harper hid in a closet when the parliament building was attacked?) Stephen Harper was no fan of public appearances and ran the government from behind a closed door for years. Sometimes I found it hard to recall what he looked like. I did not like not hearing from my Prime Minister.

I think the federal Progressive Conservative party set up Trudeau for the win. Almost every ad they ran during that election mentioned Justin Trudeau’s name, complimented his hair, and stated he was just not ready. Whoever was in charge of the commercials on the Harper campaign failed miserably. They were right though… He wasn’t ready.

All the guy really does is spend money and party.

Most of the Canadian proveniences seem to want to fuck themselves these days too. Hungry for change so the elect a party whom doesn’t have the foggiest idea how to govern.

All that hunger for change is starting to unravel, and I think it’s only a matter of time before the people just snap and take there county back.

I agree that these people were fairly elected and have every right to their term. But the governments of British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario, and the Canadian government as a whole, are seriously fucking shit up. Pipelines are being rejected, oil and gas are being stonewalled. The entire Canada pension plan is being spent in other countries at the cost of the Canadian citizens.

Hopefully the next elections return the chaos to Prosperity. The next governments are going to have a hell of a mess to clean up.

My thoughts on North Korea

I know this is going to sound a little stupid, but maybe it’s time the United States start treating North Korea like a real nation and open up some dialogue.

From what I understand, since the end of the Korean War, the United States have only communicated with the DPRK via the Swedish government. Or leaned on China to provide discussion on their behalf. That is a strategy that has gotten North Korea to this point, and clearly a strategy that has failed multiple administrations ten fold.

How do you think Kin Jong-Un would react if the Secretary of State Rex Tillerson extended an invitation to the North Koreans? “Let’s talk” I think he would probably be beside himself.

Whether you like it or not, North Korea has the military brass to be taken seriously on the world stage. I will admit that their nation is run by a complete nut job. But I’m sure he does not like being belittled by the United States and I’m positive that is a contributing factor to the current level of threats. Nobody likes being the kid that gets ignored.

The problem is, Trump is a lunatic himself. In that regard, I wish former President Obama stepped up and did more to interject in the Korean missile crisis. Obama had a calmer head and much more constructed demeanour. I think he might have been able to get the job done.

North Korea should not have nuclear weapons. Period. In fact they should have been stopped long before they got to this point. The people that live in Hawaii should not have to run “duck and cover” nuclear drills and the citizens of Japan should not wake up to air raid sirens.

Realistically, nobody is going to have a chat with Jung-Un, it’s going to come down to the military options. And I am sure plenty of scenarios have been drawn up. Unfortunately South Korea is going to take the brunt of any incursion regardless of who starts it. In this Day and age of the media and social media, is it even possible to have a covert and coordinated attack without the rest of the world knowing about it before it starts?

Sadly, I am not sure any military conflict with North Korea wouldn’t result in World War three. Almost immediately you’d be looking at Russia, Japan, South Korea, China, and the United States, that would surly draw in Canada, Britain, and then likely Paris. It would be all down hill from there.

So what then?

Well now all we can do is wait for the Trump administration to discuss and solve this problem on the worlds behalf. I am positive it is a topic of conversation every day in the situation room. Hopefully the United States pulls the right leavers and this somehow gets solved properly.

In Trump we must Trust

…shit.

P.S. Where can I find Trump brand vodka?

Mr. President?

Unless you fall into the “31% of Americans” (or lower) category, you are probably going to hate this post with a passion. BUT… If you have a few minutes, I would like to talk about the President and Donald Trump.

I do not think that it is any secret that this is probably the most hated and controversial person of our time, largely he has done it to himself… Not only has he done it to himself, but he continues to stir shit up each and every day. From the outside looking in, it seems the guy has no filter what-so-ever… not even a degraded felt pad. I do not think that anyone actually has the ability to guess how the man actually thinks. Let alone calculate the justification for his actions.

The most controversial to-date would probably the transgender ban, and the pardoning of former Sharif Arpaio, more controversially doing so under the cloud of Hurricane Harvey. Just in case that was not enough controversy, all of this such a short time after controversial remarks made around white supremacy and Nazis. (Holy) The first few rounds of the travel ban were rather raw and poorly executed… Since we are on the subject.

Then you can add on the regular hits at the Media, Republicans, Democrats, independents, and all of the internal White House battles that are also happening now.

Things seem to be escalating here… No?

Has anything constructive actually happened in the last seven months? I mean really? Well, the only thing I can think of is the placement of a Judge on the Supreme Court. (Yes Neil Gorsuch,
that was a win.)

…this is the past you are probably not going to like…

The President of the United States deserves your respect. (I’m already getting hate mail!). Let me explain, or at least try to…. Before I do, understand that I am talking about the President… not the man behind it.

POTUS probably has the most complicated and thankless job on this planet. A ridicules amount of problems and chaos cross that desk on an hourly basis. In addition to all of the meagre problems that bombard the ovel office every hour, potentially catastrophic situations cross it also. Another thing to keep in mind is that the President of the United States has information that you and I simply do not, he is after all at the top of the top secret / eyes only chain. All I’m trying to say, is that a normal president would do “something” for a reason, perhaps to manipulate “something else”.

Take a look at North Korea as my example to you. POTUS is likely receiving intelligence briefings a couple times a day, in those briefings, they likely speak to the true capabilities of the DPRK’s military ambitions. It is likely (hopefully) the president knows much more about that situation than you or I. When he chose to take a hard line, and call Kim Jong-un out, POTUS was probably well aware that they couldn’t hit Guam if they walked over and spit on it. If you can believe that strategy, it worked. North Korea ate some crow eventually and never fired those rockets. Seemingly the President won that cock fight. …for the time being anyway.

It’s also worth taking a pop shot at North Korea here, August 25th they fire three short range missiles and all three failed miserably… How embarrassing for them.

The man behind POTUS clearly has some issues. I am not entirely sure what mental condition encompasses the need to be the focus of all attention, but Trump clearly has this problem. Unfortunately, I do not think there are any pills for that condition. Seemingly the Donald is becoming more and more alone as his inner circles are pushed out. When Steve Bannon was fired, it became clear the Trump would stop nowhere be on top. Awkward considering, he is quickly approaching rock bottom.

His days are clearly numbered, if the Robert Mueller investigation doesn’t get him, the congress and fellow republicans surly will. If somehow, he survives those blows I am confident he will paint himself into a corner on twitter and self-destruct with the American people themselves.

I half thought during his campaign that he was just trying to make a mockery of the American democracy, truthfully, I am not convinced that is not his end game. Equally as certain is that when Mike Pence decided to join him and run for Vice President, he knew that he would ultimately become the President when President Trump was no longer.

The eyes of the world are certainly on the USA right now.
